Young at Art: Horseshoe Craft
Join Julie Bennett, Cherry Hills Village Elementary’s Art Teacher, for a crafting workshop at Quincy Farm that combines creativity with a touch of rustic charm. With a little imagination and some festive materials such as beads and paint, young artists will transform these iron wonders into anything from magical creatures to hanging “good luck” decorative pieces. This craft will also highlight the importance of sustainability by upcycling worn objects into something unique, artistic, and enjoyed by all. $20 per family

Hey kids! Bring your binoculars (or borrow ours) and join us for a morning of birding at Quincy Farm with Denver Audubon. It’s always a wonder as we set out in search of our feathered friends at the Farm. We’ll take a peek at who lives in the trees and which feathered fowl frequent the pond, letting our senses come alive with the sights and sounds of these Colorado beauties. Creeks & Critters
Families made a huge splash with Kate Hogan, formerly of Denver Audubon, at Woodie Hollow Park! It was the perfect day to cool off in the creek and discover countless crawdads and other fascinating critters hiding in the water. Kids of all ages tapped into their scientific curiosity, skimming the creek with nets and exploring nature hands-on. It was an unforgettable day of adventure and discovery at Woodie Hollow Park!

Young at Art: Sun Catcher Wind Chimes
Quincy Farm welcomed our newest art teacher, Heather Welsh, from Greenwood Elementary. Participants joined a crafting workshop on creating nature-inspired wind chimes to hang in a sunny window or outdoor porch. Each young artist created a beautiful collage of colorful nature items used in an awe-inspiring sun catcher wind chime. The sun illuminated the vibrant colors of the flowers, and the wind created delicate, peaceful sounds as the chime moved. This craft delighted the youngest and the oldest at heart.
Big Barn Grand Reopening

Guests experienced HawkQuest’s live raptor presentations, getting up close and personal with a live eagle, hawk, falcon, and owl. They also met visiting chickens, a few adorable goats, and our favorite horse, Petey. Nature-inspired face painting delighted the kids, and everyone enjoyed delicious bites from Mile High Sliders, one of Denver’s premier food trucks. The Barn Stall Art Display, featuring local artists and presented in collaboration with the Cherry Hills Village Art Commission, was a highlight. Beloved naturalist Kate Hogan returned to the Farm to share her extensive knowledge of birds and mammals. Attendees explored the mini Kids Art Show, which showcased award-winning pieces from local school artists, and our youngest visitors enjoyed Story Time for kids.

Come spend the evening surrounded by blooms and creativity inside the renovated Big Barn with floral designer Cindy Overhardt. Families joined Julie Bennet, Cherry Hills Village Elementary's art teacher, for a whimsical art workshop at John Meade Park, where imagination met the great outdoors! Using air-dry clay and vibrant paints, participants transformed natural finds into delightful ornaments or wearable pendants. Creativity blossomed in a fun, hands-on environment, and everyone took home a piece of nature’s beauty. Perfect for kids who love to explore and create!

Herb Garden Workshop

Cultivating your own potted herb garden
This event was held in the newly renovated Big Barn! Guests joined us for the second installment of the gardening workshop series, where we explored the delightful world of herbs. Devon Hukill of Deep Rooted Garden and Design guided participants through the process of selecting herbs that thrive together and shared essential care techniques to keep them healthy and vibrant. From basil to thyme and everything in between, attendees learned how to cultivate a variety of herbs for flavoring and garnishing their favorite dishes. Each participant planted their own herb container to take home.

The 2025 season Kick-off picnic for all Quincy Farm Ambassadors was held on May 13 inside Quincy Farm’s Barnyard. Our 3rd annual Ambassadors Picnic welcomed our new — and celebrated our current — CHV resident ambassadors. Cutting Garden Workshop

Designing your dream cutting garden
Devon Hukill, of Deep Rooted Garden and Design, shared with us tips for the flower selection process, teaching us how to choose flowers that not only thrive in our gardens but also provide long-lasting beauty when cut. Participants brought their passion for flowers to the first of three gardening workshops and left with the skills to create a vibrant cutting garden.
Earth Day Celebration

at Quincy Farm
Families joined us for old-fashioned barnyard fun with visiting animals, including chickens, goats, and Oliver the Pig. Guests enjoyed complimentary coffee or hot chocolate, learned about bees, and planted sunflower seeds in decorated pots. Naturalist Kate Hogan shared her expertise on birds, mammals, and reptiles. Everyone enjoyed fresh air and the beauty of the Farm.
